Enthusiastic lecturer who have been teaching various undergraduate Afrikaans communication skills courses since 2015. Helped develop an Afrikaans communication skills course specifically aimed at postgraduate education students at UCT (PGCE qualification). Co-created and re-designed 2 Afrikaans language and culture courses at CIEE Cape Town. Involved in the book industry via partnership with LAPA publishers – promoting children’s and YA literature on various social media platforms as well as online journals.

Both courses had to be re-developed to suit the multifaceted approach required by CIEE. This was done by collaborating with co-instructor and academic lead instructor. Content and material for course had to be re-designed and was presented in an online environment. Physical material was used to support online content & learning.

Skills | Vaardighede
- Administrative & organisation skills: General admin and organisation skills due to undergraduate part time work in Faculty Offices and during registration periods.
- Teaching skills: I have been teaching and facilitating various courses within the Afrikaans Section. Mainly Health Sciences communication courses and Education communication courses.
- Interpersonal skills: Good interpersonal skills due to good working relationships with colleagues in Afrikaans section and Health Science departments. Generally, maintain good relationships with students.
- Technology: Good with general MS Office software. Basic skills with Adobe Audition and Premiere for audio and visual projects.
- Language skills: Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English: reading, speaking and writing excellent.
- Research skills: Intermediate skills after successful completion of research masters. Improving research skills with the goal of registering for a PhD in literature.
